CLEAR celebrates its 12th year of service to language education in 2008, and has been awarded funding through 2010!

• Partnership with ACTFL: CLEAR recently collaborated with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) to manage their student video podcast contest, “Not Just a Language Class!” This contest was part of the Discover Languages… Discover the World! ( http://www.discoverlanguages.org) national public awareness campaign to build public support for language education. • CLEAR's summer workshops for 2008 drew participants from over a dozen states and several countries. Look here for more information about the six workshops that were offered, and continue to watch our Professional Development page for updates onworkshops for 2009.

• The Fourth Annual World Languages Day was held on April 12, 2008 on Michigan State University's campus. Learn all about this free event for Michigan high school students here. (Save the date for 2009: April 18)
